  • What is a skin peel?

    A skin peel is a mild form of exfoliation to remove dead skin cells from the top of the skin. A course of peels help to improve the appearance and texture of the skin relating to the visible signs of ageing and improves the texture and appearance of acne-prone skin.

  • How many treatments will I need?

    With one treatment to hydrate and refresh you will see results. Treating a skin condition or concern may require 4-12 treatments, this would be advised during a consultation.


    We recommend a skin peel every 2 - 4 weeks depending on what the skin types and conditions are. This will be advised during your consultation.


    Lactic peel can be done every 2-4 weeks starting on the lower strength and gradually building up overtime depending on their skin condition.

  • Are peels suitable for sensitive skin?

    Yes, we do a skin sensitivity test first to decide what the most suitable peel would be and would then only start off on the lowest strength peel first.

  • Do I need to prepare my skin first?

    Not necessariy, for a very superficial peel provided your skin barrier is intact you wont need to prep.

    Lactic peel above 20% needs two weeks prep with a cosmeceutical grade Vitamin A (we recommend Aspect Dr ). This is for all skin types. For light brown to darker skin types need to prepare with a pigmentation serum 2 weeks prior to the first peel. High percentage salicylic peels need two weeks prep with a cosmeceutical grade Vitamin A (we recommend Aspect Dr). This is for all skin types.

  • Is there downtime with these treatments?

    Dermaplaning and LED have no downtime. Chemical peels may cause light peeling for 3-7 days. Electroporesis has no downtime and leaves skin immediately glowing.

  • Is a peel painful?

    A peel should not feel painful, you may experience warm, tingly, slight itching for just a few minutes. 

  • Which treatment is best for my skin type?

    During your consultation at our North Auckland clinic, we'll assess your skin concerns and recommend the most suitable treatment combination for optimal results.


  • How often should I have chemical peels?

    Frequency depends on peel strength and your skin's needs. Light peels can be done monthly, while deeper peels may be spaced 6-12 weeks apart.

  • Can these treatments be combined?

    Yes! We often combine treatments for enhanced results. For example, dermaplaning before a chemical peel improves penetration, and LED therapy soothes skin post-treatment.

  • What should I expect during LED light therapy?

    LED treatment is completely relaxing - many clients fall asleep! You'll lie comfortably under colored lights for 15-20 minutes while your skin absorbs the therapeutic wavelengths.

  • How do I prepare for a chemical peel?

    We'll provide pre-treatment skincare instructions, typically including avoiding retinoids and exfoliants for several days before your appointment.


  • What's the difference between dermaplaning and chemical peels?

    Dermaplaning provides physical exfoliation removing surface debris, while chemical peels use acids for deeper cellular renewal. Both reveal smoother, brighter skin.
